Trou d’Eau Douce
Trou d’Eau Douce is a small village situated in the east of the island, south of Belle Mare, about 45 minutes drive from SSR International Airport. It has developed a lot during the recent years with the growing flow of tourists due to proximity of the idyllic Ile aux Cerfs and the 5-star hotel, One&Only Le Touessrok, which may be seen across the lagoon.
The beautiful white sandy beach runs along a lagoon of turquoise waters safe for swimming and snorkelling. “Ile aux Cerfs” being the most favourite excursion destination for everyone visiting Mauritius, there is a shuttle service taking people to that islet where various nautical activities and sports are available. Some operators offer catamaran or speedboat trips to visit the GRSE waterfall, Ile au Phare and Ile de la Passe, with stop-over in the lagoon for snorkelling and on islets to enjoy barbecued lobster or other sea food delicacies…
