Mont Choisy
Mont Choisy is a quiet village situated in the north-west of Mauritius which stretches from Trou aux Biches to Pointe aux Canonniers. It is about 75 minutes drive from SSR International Airport, and has the longest and widest public beach of the island fringed with casuarina trees offering shade from the sun and over 1 Kilometre of fine powdery white sand. Bathing is glorious. Monument Samat, erected to commemorate the first plane landing in Mauritius which took place in 1933 still lies on the edge of the lawn at the back of the public beach. The beautiful turquoise lagoon, well-protected by the barrier reefs, is safe for all nautical activities – swimming, water skiing, snorkelling, sailing, windsurfing and paragliding.
Club Méditerranée – ClubMed – being at walking distance in Pointe aux Canonniers, offers night entertainment facilities enjoyed by many visitors. There are several banks, supermarkets, pubs and very good restaurants all along its coastal road…
